Lillian's maiden name was Bean and was first married to William J. Percival at the age of 18. William was killed in an industrial accident.

Her second husband was Sam Jennings, his first marriage. Lillian died of a heart condition, within hours of giving birth to her last baby. The baby girl was stillborn and is buried with Lillian.

1930 census, Monroe:
Sam Jennings 26
Lillian Jennings 29
Alma Persival (Alma's first marriage would be to Wren Drummond)
Clarence Shewmate 20 (Boarder)
Robert Stept 22 (Boarder)

Sam and Lillian would go on to have two more girls. Helen and Joyce (Charles) Lewis of Monroe.

I've been told the family story of how Lillie died in childbirth at the age of 42 and that even many years later, Sam found it very difficult to talk about.

Sam is buried in the South Side, Lot 48, range 1, grave 1. He is not buried with Lillian, assuming he would be buried beside his 2nd wife Catherine, though she remarried upon his death and decided to be buried beside her 3rd husband Wing.
