Son of Benjamin Yaeger and Eliza Scarborough

He was born on March 11th 1906 in Biloxi Mississippi and named Joseph Benjamin Yaeger. He would however be known as Benny by family and friends. He was an older brother to Alethia, James, and Edith.

On October 19th 1929 at the age of 23 he married Thelma Caver, a schoolteacher. Officiating was Rev. James W. Sells, and the marriage took place in Pascagoula Mississippi. At the time of his marriage, he worked with his father in a dairy and poultry farm.
From this marriage, three daughters were born.

Benny later worked as maintenance foreman for the State Highway department, an Ice Plant manager in the 50's and completed 23 years with the USDA Cotton Division.

Thelma died in 1958 and he moved to Stockton California in 1959.

On December 27th 1960, he married his second wife, Audrey Goldsworthy Johnson.

He was a member of the Blue Lodge F & AM, Ben Ali Shrine and S.I.R.S #46.

Benny died on March 30th 1991 in Stockton CA and was interred at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery at the age of 85.

Predeceased by his first wife and daughter Peggy Ann, left to mourn him were his wife Audrey, his two daughters, a stepdaughter and stepson as well as nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
