RAYMOND - William Howard Walker, 63, a maintenance coordinator, died of cancer Sunday at home.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Stringer Funeral Home in Clinton with burial in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Hazlehurst.
Mr. Walker, a Memphis native, was a former resident of Copiah County. He had lived in the Jackson area for several years after serving three years in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He was employed for 39 years by Mississippi Power & Light Co. and worked in Natchez and Cleveland before moving to work at the Rex Brown Steam Electric Station in Jackson. For the past 10 years, he served as maintenance coordinator for the MP&L power plant.
Mr. Walker was a collector of Civil War artifacts who spent many hours studying Civil War histories and Mississippi campsites He enjoyed farming and, after moving to Raymond in 1981, he raised muscadines. He was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Grace; daughters, Susie McCann and Tanya Green, both of Clinton, and Melody Pope of Colleyville, Texas; sister, Frances Foster of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
