Frances Walker Miller Foster, 89, died Friday, February 22, 2008, at Hospice Ministries in Ridge-land. Services will be at Wright & Ferguson Chapel, Ridgeland, on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00am, with visitation beginning at 9:30am. Burial will follow in Hazlehurst, at Poplar Springs Cemetery, at 2:30pm.

She was born June 30, 1918, to William Frank Walker and Maude Middleton Walker, in Hazlehurst, MS. In 1936, she married her high school and college sweetheart, Luther Wyatt Miller, of Hazlehurst, and from that time lived in the Jackson area. Her two children from this marriage are Gayle Miller Reaves, and husband Thomas E. Reaves, Jackson; and Gary Wyatt Miller and wife, Glenda, of Hazlehurst.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Following the death of her first husband, she was married to Hugh Benjamin Foster, of Yazoo City. They enjoyed 18 years of love, travel and companionship until his death. She is survived by his four children: Margaret Foster McClusky, Oklahoma City, OK; C. B. Foster and wife Johnnie, Mendenhall; Lucy Foster Strickland and husband, Morris, Ocean Springs; and Ben Foster, Florence, MS. Also surviving are his six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Grace Walker Rankin of Magee, and two nieces. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, William Howard Walker.

Mrs. Foster was employed as Alterations Supervisor at The Emporium, in downtown Jackson, for many years, and later retired as Hostess at Baptist Hospital, after 15 years of service. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for 54 years. She was a former resident of Sunnybrook Retirement Center, and Highland Home Nursing Center in Ridgeland. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was centered and grounded by her deep faith in God, and her dedication to serving others.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS, 39157. The family wishes to thank the staff and employees of Hospice for their loving compassion and care these past few months.
