Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, Susie died suddenly at home April 6, 2007 in Magee, MS. Visitation is Sunday, April 08, 5-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Funeral services are 3 p.m. Monday, April 9 at the funeral home with burial in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hazelhurst.

She was born Linda Suzanne Walker on July 19, 1952 in Jackson, MS to William Howard Walker and Grace Harrell Walker. She graduated in 1970 from Clinton High School where she was a member of the Concert Choir and Sextet. Susie was elected president of the Candy Stripers.
She graduated from Hinds Nursing Allied Health Program in 1978 and joined Baptist Hospital in Jackson that same year. Susie retired after an 18-year career on the hospital floor and, as an Audit Nurse. Susie attended Corinth Baptist Church.

Susie enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She had a very creative side which showed itself in various arts and crafts projects and paintings. Susie and her husband, Jim, enjoyed traveling across the United States. She loved to work in her flower gardens among the butterflies, sharing bulbs and cuttings with family and friends.

Susie enjoyed laughing and making others laugh, especially with her Elvis routines. She always remembered birthdays and special events and loved to share a "happy" with those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by father, William Howard Walker.

Survivors include: husband of 19 years, James "Big Jim" McCann, mother Grace Rankin, daughters, Katie Blackledge, Katie McCann Goss, son, Jimmy McCann, sisters, Tanya Walker Gala, Melody Walker Orrantia, Tanya Rankin, Janna Hughes, a niece, Haley Orrantia and nephew Wesley Hughes, great-niece Brooke Hughes, father-in-law, Robert Cecil McCann, brothers-in-law, Joe McCann, and Bob McCann.
