Bertie Lou Lee Adams 1928 ~ 2006 CLEARFIELD- Bertie Lou Lee Adams, 77, passed away Thurs., Oct. 12, 2006 at Chancellor Gardens. She was born November 8, 1928 in Lewisville, Idaho the daughter of William Isaac and Alberta Wintle Lee. Mom was raised by her step-dad James A. Brittain and mother Alberta after her father died when she was an infant. Bertie married Arlo Thomas Adams on May 14, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Bertie graduated from Evanston High School, where she was a drum majorette, St. Mary's of the Wasatch College and the Holy Cross School of Nursing. Mom would later on often remind us that she used to be a nurse. Bertie was a member of the LDS Church Clearfield 5th Ward and Chancellor Garden Rocky Mtn. Branch. Mom loved to play the piano and organ until her frail hands would no longer allow her to do so. She also loved gardening, sewing, crafts, playing cards and bingo with her friends at Chancellor Garden. Surviving are her two sons, James Lee (Shar) Adams, Alan Dale Adams, Clearfield; daughter, Karen (Gary) Sessions, Peterson; nine grandchildren, Chris, Tim, Stacie, Amber, Ashley, Sacha, Dustin, Pam and Sarah, four great-grandchildren, Bailee, Dalton, Jentry and Cache, brother, Jim (Sandy) Brittain, Sacramento, CA; sister, Jane (Dudley) Doelble, Layton; and daughter-in-law, Linda, Visalia, CA. Preceded in death by her husband, son, Tom Adams, parents and daughter-in-law, Cheryl. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery. Bertie's family wishes to express appreciation to Chancellor Gardens and staff, HORIZON Hospice and Harmony for the loving care always given to our mom.
