Son of Ira Milton Sterner & Lydia Baugher Sterner

Noah Lester Sterner, 74, of Brodbecks RR 1, died Thursday at The Brethren Home in New Oxford, after a long illness. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Rohrbaugh) Sterner. The couple observed their 45th wedding anniversary in June.
The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Brodbecks RR 1. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc.,53 Main St., Glen Rock, and 9 - 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Mr. Sterner was bonr August 27, 1922 in Brodbecks. He was the son of the late Ira M. & Lydia (Baugher) Sterner. He worked for Hanover Container, retiring in 1988 after 17 years of service. He also was employed by Lineboro Atlas Plywood, AMP and Noels Potato Chips and was a farmer for many years. He was a member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Sterner also is survived by a son, Galen Sterner of Hanover; three daughters, Sally Hill of Tucson, Ariz., Jill M. Hoffacker of Spring Grove and Bonnie McMaster of New Oxford; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary J. Sweitzer of Glen Rock.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Donald G. Hubbell. Memorial contributions may be made to Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Brodbecks RR 1, 17329; or to Brethren Home Foundation Good Samaritan Fund, Box 128, New Oxford, Pa. 17350.
