MRS. ROSA A. WHITEHOUSE, 77 years old, died at her home in Louisville at 5:25 o'clock Friday afternoon, September 16. Mrs. Whitehouse, before her marriage to Ike Whitehouse, who has been dead for a number of years, was Miss Rosa Mattingly, a member of one of the older families of Breckinridge County. This was a very large family and they were settlers in the little village of Balltown or Mattingly, Ky. Mrs. Whitehouse is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sam Rice and Mrs. John Lawson of Louisville; five sons, Henry and Benedict Whitehouse of West Point, Floyd Whitehouse of Baltimore, Md., Fred and Fladge Whitehouse of Mattingly. She is also survived by one brother, C. H. Mattingly of Hardinsburg, who is 86 years of age and has been in ill health for some months. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Whitehouse had made her home with her sons at Mattingly, with her daughters, and for the past year has lived in Louisville.
