Mrs. Margaret Annie Akers, 53, of 905 Dunlap Rd., Dublin died early Saturday morning in the Radford Community Hospital. Born December 30, 1927 in Giles Co, she is the daughter of Minnie Leona Davis Lucas & the late Walter Harrison Lucas. She was a member of the Dublin Baptist Church and a member of Christian Business Women's Asso of Pulaski County. She is survivied by her husband, Guy W. AKers Jr.; two sons, Philip Dean Akers, Roger Allen Akers both of Dublin; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Leona Davis Lucas, Christiansburg; eight sisters, Mrs. Nellie L. Beckner, Morrow, GA; Mrs. Mary E. Wheeler, Narrows; Mrs. Helen M. Olson, New Castle, DE; Mrs. Betty M. Draughn, Mt. Airy, NC; Mrs. Armentia M. Hedgecock, Kandleman, NC; Mrs. Juanita Hawks, Mt. Airy, NC; Mrs. Lillian I. Wright, Roanoke; Mrs. Beverly A. Young, Christiansburg; six brothers, Curtis C. Lucas, Walter H. Lucas, both of Christiansburg, James M. Lucas, Hiwassee; Jerry R. Lucas, Blacksburg; Gary W. Lucas, Floyd, and Donald E. Lucas, Christiansburg. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Dublin Baptist Church with the Rev. Malcolm L. Cadd officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, VA. Friends may call anytime Sunday afternoon and the family will receive friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m., Sunday at the Bower Funeral Home, Dublin; Va. The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon Monday to lie instate, until the time of service. Bower Fuperal Home Dublin is handling the arrangements.
