B. M. Bath
Benjamin Marion Bath, 59, of Georgetown, died unexpectedly at 6:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home here on Front Street. he had been ill since September when he suffered a heart attack.
Funeral services were held from Duncan Memorial Methodist church at 11 am Tuesday with the Rev Dr J. H. Danner officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Bath was born in Georgetown County April 30 1890 and was a son of the late Daniel M. Bath and the late Mrs. Ella Grier Bath. For a number of years, Mr. Bath was connected with the wholesale grocery business here but for the past eight years he had been connected with a local finance company as manager.
Mr. Bath was a keen sportsman being a member of several hunting and fishing clubs as well as a member of the Business Men's Club and of the Woodmen of the World. He was also a member of Duncan Memorial Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow the former Miss Susan Gertrude Shackelford; two sons D. White Bath and Richard C. Bath, three daughters Mrs. Elizabeth B. Woods, Mrs. B. W. Cox and Mrs. Gene Raider, all of Georgetown, eight grandchildren a brother C. Leroy Bath of Georgetown, and two sisters Mrs. F. G. Querry of Plantersville, and Miss Ella Bath of Georgetown.
