I.B. Flowers Sr.
Dies At Home
On Route 5

Ira Benton Flowers Sr. of Route 5 died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday at his home. He was 64.
Mr. Flowers had been in failing health for five months. His condition became serious in the past three weeks.
He was the son of Mrs. Polly Flowers of Moultrie and the late William (Billy) Flowers, Colquitt County pioneers. Ira Benton Flowers, Sr. was active in his community and Berlin Methodist Church until his health failed. He was a farmer.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Berlin Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. James Harris of Berlin Methodist Church and the Rev. J.W. Joiner of Crestwood Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Ethel Edmondson of Moultrie; his mother, Mrs. Polly Flowers of Moultrie; three sons: Enos Flowers of Route 4, Leon Flowers and Ira Benton Flowers Jr., both of Route 5; three brothes: Sam Flowers of Oaklawn Cal., Grady Flowers of Route 6 and Milton Flowers of Route 5; two sisters: Mrs. Bea Smith of Moultrie and Mrs. Ela Hudson of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
