Last Rites for
Mrs. Flowers At
Sardis Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Polly Hart Flowers were held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. The Rev. W.A. Sedgwick conducted the last rites and the Reverends James Harris and Albert Hall assisted in the rites. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harris Perry, Ralph Palmer, T. W. Olliff Jr., Floyd Wilcox, Broughton Williams and A. J. Lowery.

Mrs. Flowers died Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Jacksonville, Fla., after an extended illness. She had lived in Colquitt County her entire life, except for the four years she spent with her daughter, Mrs. Opal Hudson in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Flowers was the widow of the late William Flowers of Colquitt County. She was a member of a pioneer family to Colquitt County. Mrs. Flowers was the daughter of the late John Hart and Martha Robinson Hart of Colquitt. She was born February 17, 1882 in Colquitt County. She was 84.

Surviving Mrs. Flowers are four sons, Grady Flowers, Melton Flowers, and Sam Flowers, all of Moultrie, and Charles Flowers of Jacksonville, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Smith of Moultrie, Mrs. Opal Hudson of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Ludie Mims and Mrs. Ethel Flowers of Moultrie, and Mrs. Katherine Flowers of Fitzgerald; one brother, Dennis Hart of Moultrie, and one sister, Mrs. J. H. Saunders of Miami Fla.
