Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Round Island Baptist Church, west of Athens, for George F. Rudder Sr., 75-year-old farmer, whose death occurred Wednesday night at Jackson's Clinic. Burial by McConnell followed in the City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wallace Shaw, Ashford Shaw, B. A. Dudley, Carl Preston, Paul Black and Price Black.
Mr. Rudder is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bonnie Owens Rudder; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Cox, Miami, Florida; three sons, J. V. Rudder, Detroit, George F. Rudder Jr., Massachusetts, and Thomas R. Rudder, Key West, Florida; as well as two-step-sons [Reuben Bernice Jenkins and Leslie Herbert Jenkins], two sisters, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
