Lucil(l)e is the daughter of Joseph Daniel Brantley Sr. (1845-1900) and his third wife, Beulah Haddock Brantley (1869-1901). She had at least 17 siblings.

When Lucile was 17 years old, she married James Monroe Harper on 26 Jul 1914 in Bibb County, Georgia. Fun family history, in 1919, Lucile's younger brother, Joseph Daniel Brantley Jr (1899-1965) married James' cousin (1st cousin 1x removed) Eva Mae Harper (1903-1978).

James and Lucile had three children:
*Joseph Stevenson "Joe" Harper - born 10 Aug 1916 in Georgia; likely named after his paternal grandfather Joseph S. Harper (1856-1923)). He married Sara Lois "Lois" Pilcher (1916-2008). He died 09 Oct 1957 in a plane crash in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, USA.
*Blanche Evelyn "Blanche" Harper - born ~1919 in Georgia. She married Winston Black (1915-1963). She died 09 Apr 2001.
*James Monroe? Harper Jr - born 07 Aug 1922 in Macon, Bibb, Georgia. He married Sybil Ann Shepard (1920-2015) on 11 Jul 1942. He died 28 Jan 1989 in Georgia.

James Sr. passes away on 01 May 1922. He is either tragically wounded by someone else or his own hand which results in his death. He is 29 years old. James left his 25 year old pregnant widow and two young children. In 1930, Lucile is a widow living in Macon, Georgia with her three children. Between 1930 and 1940, between the ages of 28 and 38, Lucile marries Thomas Boddiford. Thomas, Lucile and Lucile's son James (who is called James Boddiford in the 1940 US census) are living on Roosevelt St. in Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia. I find no evidence to show Lucile and Tom had children. I do not know if Thomas remarries. Tom passes away in 1981 and is buried in Doubleheads Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvania, GA where his parents and other family members are buried.

Lucile passes away at the young age of 45. Thomas is ~47 years old. It seems Thomas buried Lucile with her first husband James in the family plot of James Sr's Harper family in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia.
