Last rites for Mrs. Annie E. Hart were held in the Vidalia Primitive Baptist Church, Monday afternoon (May 8) at 3 o'clock with Elders S.M. Claxton of Swainsboro and D.R. Temples of Vidalia, officiating. Mrs. Hart was laid to rest in Pinecrest Cemetery with Murchison in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were J.D. Hart, Jr., of Macon, L.S. Hart, Jr. of Birmingham, R.C. Wilkinson of Macon, S.D. Hooton of Birmingham, J.H. Brantley of Douglas and J.E. Durden of Atlanta.

Mrs. Hart was the daughter of the late Joe Brantley and Mrs. Melissa Massey Brantley, both of Washington County. She was the widow of the late William A. Hart. At the time of her death she was in her 80th year of useful life. She came to this place in 1898 and was among the first two hundred families to pioneer the beginning of Vidalia. She was a consecrated member of the Vidalia Primitive Baptist Church. She died Saturday afternoon (May 6) after a rather long illness.

Members of her immediate family surviving include a daughter, Mrs. J.O. Hatcher of Vidalia; two sons, J.D. Hart of Macon and L.S. Hart of Birmingham. Five brothers are J.F. Brantley of Douglas, G.C. Brantley of San Bernardino, Calif., J.D. Brantley of Macon, T.C. Brantley of Milledgeville, Beverley Brantley of Miami, Fla.; Four sisters are Mrs. J.E. Durden and Mrs. I.G. Hartley of Atlanta, Mrs. J.T. Lewis of Moultrie and Mrs. Luther Bonner of Haddock. There are four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a wide family connection in Washington and Johnson Counties.
