Obituary, Rushville [IN] Republican, Monday, September 14, 1953:

Mrs. Branson Dies East Of Carthage

Mrs. Florella Branson, 77, wife of Fletcher Branson, died at 3 p.m. Sunday at the family home east of Carthage.

She had been ill one year and death followed a stroke she suffered recently.

She was born October 27, 1875, in Posey Township, a daughter of Walter and Amanda Gordon Northam. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Carthage.

Survivors are her husband and three children, Marlin Branson, Indianapolis; Robert Branson, Knightstown; and Miss Bernice Branson of Carthage. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Thompson Funeral Home at Carthage with Rev. Homer D. Rich in charge. Burial will be in Blue River Cemetery, Shelby County.

Friends may call at the funeral home beginning this evening.
