Died at Howard, PA August 23, 1892 Mrs. Sarah C. wife of William Lyons age 56 years 20 days. Mrs. Lyons was the daughter of Samuel and Hannah Lyons, now living at Roland in this county and was born in Clarion County August 23, 1826. She was united in marriage to William Lyons Dec. 15, 1853 and the greater portion of her subsequent life was spent in this community, exemplifying the virtues of his faithful wife and careful mother. Twelve children were born to her, four of whom were carried over to the other shore in infancy, while six of those remaining honored her by growing to be industrious and useful citizens of this and neighboring communities. The twelfth and youngest Harry, a bright and promising lad, now lies very near death's door under the influence of that dread disease typhoid which robbed him of his mother. Mrs. Lyons was domestic in her tastes, and gave her time and energies to the faithful care of her husband, home, and children while not neglecting the kindly offices of neighbor and friend, what other epitaph can woman have? Her life was inoffensive, and her end peaceful and hopeful. Honor to her memory, comfort to her husband and returning health to her stricken son.
