Librada J. Garcia, 89 of Encino, NM died Monday, February 23, 2009 in Rio Rancho. Librada was born December 4, 1919, in La Palma, New Mexcio to the home of Jose and Antonia Jaramillo. Librada married Amadeo J. Garcia (A. J.) in 1936. They were married for 57 years and had ten children, eight boys and two girls. They owned and operated a Texaco gas station from 1947 to 1987 on Main Street in Encino. She was a member of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Church in Encino. She was also an active member of the Senior Citizens Center in Encino where she also taught crocheting techniques. She loved to work with arts and crafts. She had many friends and family over the years and she loved to spend time with them. She loved to watch her soap operas, novelas, and TV Game Shows. Librada's favorite pastime was working on word-puzzles and she was quite good at figuring them out. She had a sweet tooth and was a wonderful cook. Her family and friends will miss her greatly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Survivors include her daughter Marcella Garcia (David) of Bernalillo, NM; four sons; Leo Garcia (Theresa) of Albuquerque NM; Amadeo Garcia, Jr. (Emily) of Albuquerque; Herman Garcia (Vivian) of Las Cruces; Albert Garcia (Marcella) of Albuquerque; She has 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also has numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Librada was preceded in death by her husband Amadeo; and five children Freddy, Arnold, Alicia, Maguin and Willie; her parents Jose and Antonia Jaramillo; and her siblings Jesus Jaramillo, Samuel Jaramillo, Enrique Jaramillo, Eva Rivera, Avelina Aguilar, Francisco (Franque) Jaramillo, and is survived by her older sister Emma Aguilar, 92, of Las Cruces and her lifetime Howdy Doody friend and sister-in-law Tomasita Chavez. Rosary Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Church in Encino, followed by Funeral Mass Services on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at the same location. Mass will be officiated by Father Steve Sanchez. Burial will follow at the Guadalupe Cemetery in Encino, NM. Pallbearers will include Librada's grandchildren Joey Garcia, Trish Darnell, David Garcia, Denise Garcia, Federico Garcia, Jonathan Garcia, and Jose Garcia.
