Frank Alberto "Popo" Jaramillo, 85, of Roswell died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1918, in Plaza Vieja to Jose and Antonia Abeyta Jaramillo. He met his wife, Julianita Lucero, in the third grade. They married on Jan. 8, 1940. He lived in Roswell since 1965 and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He retired from the AT&SF Railroad after 32 years of employment as a track supervisor/railroader. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; four brothers; two sons, Arturo and an infant child; a daughter, Sally Mae Jaramillo Trujillo; a grandchild, Annabelle Jaramillo; and an infant great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife; seven children, Joe Jaramillo (and wife, Margaret), Eduardo Jaramillo, Patricia Romero (Celso Sr.), Antonia "Toni" Jaramillo Morales, Francisca Rubio (friend, Solomon Montano), all of Roswell, and JoAnna Lee Pleasant of Albuquerque and Bobby Joe Trujillo (Nichole) of Fairbanks, Alaska; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Emma J. Aguilar of Las Cruces and Librada J. Garcia of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rev. John Montoya officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Edward J. Sanchez, Anthony R. Romero, Debra D. Jaramillo, Tomas J. Sanchez Sr., and Frank Albert "Cisco" Jaramillo.
