He was born in Montwell, Duchesne County on January 27, 1934 to Raymond Sampson Brown and Elizabeth Anderton. He married Dawn Pace in the Logan, Utah Temple on June 24, 1954. Fred worked in the broadcasting industry for most of his adult life. He entertained all who listened with his humor, common sense and love of classic country music.
Fred and Dawn made hundreds of friends through their involvement with square dancing for over 40 years. They organized square dance clubs in Roosevelt, Vernal, Neola, Altamont, and Pleasant Grove, Utah. He served on the Duchesne County Chamber of Commerce and President of the Roosevelt Area Chamber of Commerce. He served faithfully in many capacities in the LDS Church including bishop, high councilor and Sunday School President. He loved serving people and especially serving the youth.
Fred is survived by his wife, Dawn of Cedarview, son, Kyle (Debbie) of Salt Lake City; two grandsons, Justin Brown and Tom Roberts (Tina) and by two great granddaughters, Ivey and Madie; sisters, Rosalee Jessen (Gary) of Altonah, UT; Carol Shivers (Roy) of Henderson, NV; Helen Brown (Larry) of Neola, UT and his brother Brent Brown (Boneta) of Jensen, Utah.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola LDS Church. A viewing will be held at the Hullinger Mortuary on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the Church from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Cedarview Cemetery.
