Chico Weekly Chronicle-Record, Saturday, May 11, 1889, pg 1 col 4: Death of George Bader. George Bader, a younger brother of Supervisor H.F. Bader, of Cherokee, died at the family residence in that town last Wednesday. The funeral took place May 2nd, and was largely attended, Rev. Jesse Wood conducting the services. Deceased was a native Californian, only 26 years old, and had lived nearly all his life in Cherokee. He had been in declining health for some months, but his friends did not suppose that the end was so near. He leaves a mother, brother and sisters, and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. This is the second grown son whom Mrs. Bader has lost within a year, and her friends deeply sympathize with her in the bereavement.
