A homemaker and a resident of Sicily Island, she died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, at Natchez Regional Hospital, Natchez, Miss. She was born Oct. 18, 1897, in Oak Vale, Miss.

Visiting at Pine Hill Baptist Church, near Sicily Island, 4 p.m. Monday until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Clois Cole and the Rev. Lawrence Hailey. Interment in Old Pine Hill Cemetery.

Survived by a son, John Friley Guice, Sicily Island; two daughters and sons-in-law, Muriel Ophelia and John Richard Wells, Sicily Island, and Virginia Elois and Bishop Monroe, Ruston; three sons and daughters-in-law, Herd Nathaniel and Pauline Guice, Baton Rouge, Lester Langston and Golide Guice and Loma Dean and Leona Guice, all of Sicily Island; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, John Fielding Guice; a son, Woodie Dempsey Guice; parents, Willie Dempsey and Georgeann Langston.

Pallbearers will be Joe Wells, Kenneth Monroe, Son Guice, Greg Guice, Stanley Guice, Jon Keith Guice and Todd Guice. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Volentine, Bob Hill, James Carpenter, Eddie Delhoste, Jimmy Farmer, Dewayne Guice, Keith Guice, Richard Longman, Graig Ensiminger and Bruce Edmonds.

She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church,Sicily Island.
