Obituary - Kaysville-Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, Emma Jeanne Hamblin, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, April 13, 2008, after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Jeanne was born June 7, 1934 and was 73 years young. She was born and raised in Atchison, Kansas to her parents, Anton and Grace Koehler where she was raised in the Baptist Church. She married the love of her life, Dan C. Hamblin, in Kansas on November 30, 1952. She lived with her family in Kaysville for 29 years. She worked and retired from the Layton Hills Mall Mervyns where she worked for approximately 15 years. She had also worked for the United Press International as a teletype operator in the late 1950's. She enjoyed many hobbies, the most of which were gardening her beautiful, and envied by many, Iris and Peonies. She also loved and did a great amount of research in her family Genealogy. Her other hobbies included needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, sewing and reading. She also loved and cherished her pet cat, Frankie.
Jeanne leaves behind two daughters, Janis Lorraine Hancock of Riverdale, UT and Amy Christine Montoya (Michael J. Montoya) of Willard, UT; five grandchildren, Jessica Yveth Noell Miller; Rebekah Jayne Miller; Derrek Michael Montoya; Travis Dane Montoya and Brandon Jacob Montoya. Also, one great-granddaughter, whom she adored and cherished; Rowan Alexa Grace Miller. Jeanne had three brothers and one sister, Elmo Koehler; Louise Smith, Jacob Koehler and Kenneth Koehler. She was preceded by death by her parents; Anton and Grace Koehler; two brothers, Elmo and Jacob Koehler and her sister, Louise Smith. She also lost her husband of 47 years, Dan C. Hamblin in 1999.
The family would like to give special thanks to Alpine Home Care and Hospice for their care in Jeanne's last days and hours. These angels gave the support and care that was greatly needed and appreciated. Words Alone cannot express how grateful we are for their kindness and support. A special thanks to Ali's Angels Respit Care in Brigham City, for their kindness and support and care. Thanks to Country Lane Assisted Living in Brigham City, where the kind and caring staff took care of her for two years before she moved home. Many thanks as well to the First Baptist Church of Brigham City who's members were like family and picked her up every Sunday for Church Services.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street. Friends and Family may call Wednesday, from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the Mortuary.
Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
