Daughter of Francis M and Jerusha (Dooley) Dabney; Arena married Nathan D. Tharp on March 11, 1867 and is the mother of Thomas E, Orris M, Elsie E, N.D., & Teddy H.

Arena and Nathan D were a respected family of pioneers who were among the first to settle Saunders County. Their first home was a dugout, but they worked the land prosperously and eventually built a framed home. They were active members of the Baptist church; their bio can be found in the book "Past and Present of Saunders County, Nebraska" pages 286-290.
