Arthur Jr. Hyde, 65, Memphis, passed away June 22, 1988, in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis. He was born February 8, 1923, in Brock, the son of Arthur and Teresa Wieland Hyde. He united in marriage to Clara McIntosh on December 31, 1942, near Cantril, Ia. To this union two children were born. He is survived by his wife, Clara; two sons, James Arthur Hyde and wife, Connie, Eldon, Mo., and Dennis Hyde and wife, Nancy, Burlington, Ia.; two sisters, Arlene Rutledge and husband, James, Conley, Ga., and Norma June Woods and husband, Max, Fairfield, Ia.; five grandchildren, Mike, Tina, Curtiss and Carrie, Eldon, Ia., and Mickie, Burlington, Ia.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother and sister. Mr. Hyde farmed in the Brock area for many years until his failing health no longer permitted. Services for Arthur Jr. Hyde were held June 25, 1988, in the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, at 1 p.m. Rev. Donna Miller officiated. Organist was Ann Luther and soloist was Guy Gardine. Body bearers were Joe Wesley, Joe T. Walker, Dean Simerl, Randy Woods, Steve Morris and Dean Childress. Burial was in the Brock Cemetery, Scotland County.
