Teresa Mida Hyde
Teresa Mida Hyde was born near Bible Grove in Scotland County,
Septermber 22, 1898, the daughter of Bramlett and Melvina McCandless Wieland. She passed away November 30, 1987 in the Scotland County Memorial Nursing Home. She was united in marriage to Arthur Hyde, Memphis, on February 26, 1922. There were five children born to this marriage. Mrs. Hyde was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two infant children (died at birth); and one sister, Ona House. Mrs. Hyde is survived by one son, Arthur Hyde, Jr. and wife, Clara of Memphis; two daughters, Arlene and husband James B. Rutledge , Conley, Georgia and Norma and husband Max Woods, Fairfield, Iowa; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Teresa graduated from State Teachers College of Kirksville. She taught at Wilson Country School on Highway 15 north of Brock for a few years prior to raising her family. She joined the Antioch Christian Church at an early age. After her marriage she attended the Brock Methodist Church and was a member of the U. M. W. She was also a member of the Brock Busy Bees Extension Club most of her adult life. Arthur and Teresa celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 1982. Services for Teresa M. Hyde were held December 3, 2 p.m. from the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis. Rev. Donna Miller officiated. Organist was Olive Bull and soloist was Guy Gardine. Body bearers were Clarence Kiddoo, Bill Kiddoo, Joe Keller, Stanley Eggleston, Vaughn Briggs, and Steve Morris. Burial was in Brock Cemetery.
