Born May 12, 1923 in Sullivan County, Missouri, he was the son of Charles M. and Clara M. (Clubine) Arnold. On August 12, 1947, he married Wynona Marie Johnson who preceded him in death March 8, 1980. Also preceding him in death were his father; one brother and one half-sister.
Surviving are his mother, Clara Arnold of Kirksville; two sons, Lendal Arnold and Darrel Arnold, both of Kirksville; two daughters, Bonita Sutton of Kirksville and Sharon Egbert of Mason City, iowa; ten grandchildren; one brother, Roy Arnold of Arvada, Colorado and one sister, Doris King of Milan, Missouri.
Mr. Arnold was reared in Sullivan County where he received his education. He lived most of his adult life in Adair County where he was engaged in farming and was also a truck driver.
During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Arnold served with the United States Armed Forces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday morning, July 26, 198 in the chapel of the Fohn Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Hunsaker, pastor of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Dianthe Cable, organist, and Van Egbert, soloist. Selections will be "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Greg Durflinger, Randy Watson, C.A. Pack, Martin Keim, Randy Schille and Gaylen Hill.
Honorary bearers will be: Harry Durflinger, Verl Rigdon, Dale Miller, Paul Eitel, Orval Brummitt, Willard Cusick, Basil Keller and Kenneth Lovell.
Friends may call at the Fohn Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from seven to nine o'clock this evening July 25, 1988 in the funeral chapel.
