My Mother Mary was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Straw and Eva Grace Haynes. She married Claude (Jake) Englehardt on 12-30-1937 in Pyror, Mayes County, Oklahoma. They divorce in 1954. They had 3 children Joy Faye in April 17, 1953, she was killed on June 3, 2002 in a car wreck. They had son Claude, Jr. (Jeff) on October 22, 1945, he died of a heart attack June 22, 2007. Then there was me, Eva born Sept 11, 1949.
My dad Jake was born 2-24-1915 and died 6-15-1986. Yes,they had the same birthday.
Her favorite cousin Glen Fisher arranged burial and transported my mother Mary here to Friendship Cemetery so she could be buried near her parents.
My mother was a kind and big hearted lady, if she thought you needed something she had more than she did she would give it to you. She would do without if a perfect stanger was in need.
As all Straw family members she was short in stature, 4 foot 11 inches. Had green eyes and the curliest natural curly light brown hair. She was very artistic, painting, sewing, crochet work and wrote songs. Made great homemade candies and canned food.
She is surely missed by all that knew her.
