From his obituary:
William Hines was born on January 30, 1844, and died March 15, 1906 at 10:10 a.m. He was married to Mary E.V. Mitchell Hines (Mollie) on May 4, 1876. Together they had six children.
Will gave his heart to Christ when a small boy and said, "I never went anywhere that I could not take Christ with me." His entire life was given to that which was good. He had his heart above and laid up his treasures there. Having passed from this to the other life, he is now robed in immortality, and with other immortal spirits he is still on errands to do his Master's will.
He was sick for eight and one-half months. During this time he was very patient and much concerned about the spiritual interests of his family and community. Before he died he gave his family his parting blessing and requested them and his friends to meet him in heaven.
He was buried at Epworth with appropriate services conducted by Rev. J.E. Abernathy and his pastor.

William was a charter member of Epworth United Methodist Church
