Edgar "Jack" was the second of ten known children born to Willie Harvey Annett and Ida Lee Clem Wigley Annett. He had a twin brother, Edward Elbert. He married Geraldine Grant. They had at least two children: Johnnie Ray and Ronald Eugene.

Borger News Herald - August 10, 1998

CHICOTA - Edgar "Jack" Annett, 77, died Friday, August 7 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Forest Chapel United Methodist Church in Chicota with the Rev. Harvey Brown and the Rev. Bill Sanders, officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Annett was born Dec. 7, 1920 in Wade, Okla. He grew up in the Chicota Community and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in San Jose, Calif. before returning to Chicota in 1978.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin, brother, Edward Annett and two grandsons, Aaron and Kevin.

Survivors include one son, John Annett of Pleasanton, Calif.; one brother, Cleburn Annett of Plainview; five sisters, Florence Draper of Powderly, Betty Morgan of Blue Ridge, Martha Hamman of Mesquite, Billie Ruth Hickman of Fritch and Jean Dodd of Comanche; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
