Elizabeth Caroline Norwood was born in Indiana August 12, 1846 and died at Nora March 14, 1919 at the age of 72 years 7 months and 2 days. She was married to John B. Adamson March 10, 1872 at Centerville, Iowa. Nine children were born to this union, one of which died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Adamson came to Nuckolls county (sic) forty years ago, and the husband died seven years ago. When a girl of sixteen she united with the Methodist church and later affiliated with the Christian church, where she was a faithful and consistent worker to the end. She leaves to mourn her death, one step son, J.E. Adamson, Boulder, Colo.; two son, E.S. of Wauneta; A.E. of Bushnell; six daughters, Mrs. Belle Wright, Sanger, Calif.; Mrs. Marilla Downing, Nora; Mrs. Lillie Corman, Boulder, Colo.; Mrs. Addie Stowers and Mrs. Della Scherzinger, Nora; and Mrs. Blanche Houston, Dietrich, Idaho; also three brothers, T.K. Norwood who resides in California; Nate, in Wisconsin; Frank, in Iowa.

A short funeral service was held at the Nelson cemetery (sic) Monday afternoon conducted by her Pastor, V.E. Shirley, in the presence of a number of neighbors and friends who had shared the joys and trials of pioneer life with the deceased.
