Obituary.

Nathaniel Norwood died August 10th, 1898, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.B. Adamson, in Nora, Neb. He was born Feb. 28, 1811, in the state of North Carolina; he was married Feb. 6, 1834, to Matilda Brower, with whom he lived until Feb. 19, 1896, when she passed away, 62 years and 13 days of their lives being spent together. Their children numbered eleven - seven sons and four daughters, of which six sons and one daughter are living. The grand children numbered 54 of which 43 are living; great grand children forty-four. The greater number of these were present at the funeral on August 11th, when the remains were laid to rest in the Nelson cemetery (sic) beside his wife.

Nathaniel Norwood was a native of North Carolina, and grew to manhood in that state, and married there. He then moved to Indiana when he was about 27 years of age. Afterwards he made a trip to North Carolina and back on horseback, crossing the Blue ridge three different times in his life. He moved to Nebraska in 1884.
