Marion Baucop, neice, remembered that Aunt Annie "was the picture of Granma Kiehl (Trion)" in physical appearance.
She stayed in Ashland and lived at 627 Centre Street taking care of her father. She remained at that address with her husband George Staehle after her father died. Marion recalls that the family lived on the second floor and an ACME market occupied the first floor. The family had no ownership or connection with the store. A hayloft and wooden platform with roof were behind the store. Across the street was a "run-down" movie theatre that one of George B. Kiehl's sons took her to see a movie.
1930 census: 631 Centre St.
Sometime after her husband died in 1940, Annie moved to 117 Centre St. near her oldest daughter Lavina (Mrs. William Curry) who lived at 113 Centre St. in Ashland, Pa.
She had a thick Pennsylvania German accent. Annie was a housewife. She made "snow pudding" in bowls now kept by niece Florence. She loved limburgher cheese
She died at 2:55am June 17, 1962 at Ashland State Hospital. Her funeral was at the Kull Funeral Home in Ashland. On 6-20-62 she was buried next to her father George Kiehl and husband at the Christ Church Cemetary at Fountain Springs.
