CHATFIELD -- The funeral for Laverne Asleson will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Root Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Fountain with the Rev. John W. Sime officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Asleson, 72, a farmer from Chatfield, died Wednesday (Sept. 10, 1997) at his home.
He was born May 4, 1925, in Chatfield and lived and farmed there until his death. He married Arlis Lietz and they were later divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Craig of Chatfield and Brian of Stockholm, Wis.; and a sister, Avis (Mrs. Cedric) Ellis of Eyota. A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
