Clarence "Clar" V Eastman, dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sept. 17, 1997 at his home in West Valley City after a short battle with cancer.
He was born January 26, 1925 in Woodruff, a son of Marshall V and Eliza T Eastman. He married Jean H. Merrell on June 10, 1972. He served honorably in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Salt Lake Community College after 22 1/2 years of dedicated hard work.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; his children, Gilbert (Trixie) Eastman, Twila Youman, Marjean Storm, Melba (Jesse) Gibson, Craig (Beverly) Merrell, Carla Wood, Russell (Carol) Eastman, Jackie (Jim) Terry, Ila Riney, Grant Merrell, Lila Hurst, Glenda (Randy) Steele, John (Linda) Eastman; 50 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lee.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997 at 2 p.m. in the Redwood Memorial Chapel, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. Friends may call Sat. from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at the Mortuary. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the caregivers of Vistacare.
