Jean H. Eastman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away at her home surrounded by family on July 2, 2018 at the age of eighty-seven.

Born Lowes Jean Heap to Lellon and Lillian Heap on October 2, 1930 in Paragonah, she was the seventh of nine children (all of whom preceded her in death). Jean grew up and attended school in Parowan.

She married Martin B. Merrell (deceased) and had six children: Marjean Storm, Craig (Bev) Merrell, Carla Wood (Bob), Jackie (Jim) Terry, Grant (Yvette) Merrell, and Glenda Steele (deceased). She later married Clarence V. Eastman (deceased) and inherited eight additional children: Gilbert (Trixie) Eastman, Twila Eastman, Jimmy Eastman (deceased), Melba Eastman, Russell (Mira) Eastman, Ila (Art) Atwood, Lila Hutchinson, and John (Hope) Eastman.

Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, puzzles, flowers, and her garden. She always loved to dance. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her surviving children, fifty-five grandchildren, 141 great-grandchildren, and eighteen great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Canyon Home Care & Hospice for their wonderful care of their mother.
