BIOGRAPHY: He is the son of Arnold William and Norma Elizabeth (Boland) Cook.
MILITARY: Harold served in the air reserves as a cook. He still enjoys cooking and every once in awhile when you go up there you will get something from Harold's kitchen, a special carmel roll or bars.

HAROLD D. COOK: Services were held Thursday, June 26, 2003 for Harold D. Cook, 67 of Hartford Township, Todd County, Browerville, at First Baptist Church, Long Prairie with the Rev. Ron Hibbs officiating. Burial was at First Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Iona Township, Todd County. Pallbearers were James Flowers, Wesley Edin, Robert Schneider, Raymond Ecklund, Harvey Whiteford and Lonny Luberts. Services were entrusted to the Stephan-Stein Funeral Home, Long Prairie. Mr. Cook died Sunday, June 22, 2003 at his residence. He was born Jan, 13, 1936 to Arnold and Norma [Boland] Cook at the home of his Aunt Mildred Schrader, Osseo. He married Carol S. McKay, June 6, 1959, at Evangelical United Brethren Church, Corcoran. He lived with his family on a farm near Maple Grove. In 1942 the family moved to a farm on Co. Rd. 30, Maple Grove, just east of Interstate 94. He attended the United Methodist Church, Corcoran, with his elementary education at District 44, Weaver Lake School, and District 100 Elm Creek School. He graduated from Osseo High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and Minnesota Air National Guard from 1954 to 1963. He dairy farmed with his father until he bought a farm in Clarissa in 1979 and farmed until 1989. He worked for John Weise Ford, Sauk Centre for two years, and for the past seven years he has been raising bison. He served on the Iona Township Board, attended the First Baptist church, Long Prairie, and was on the Eagle Valley Co-op Oil Station Board. He enjoyed motorcycles, toy tractors, buffalo, reading, and visiting with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Norma Cook; son, David, Dec. 23, 1995; grandson, Nathan, Sept. 30, 1992; and brother, John Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Browerville, two children, Kay [David] Jorgensen of Howard Lake and Byron [Jeanne] Cook of Long Prairie; one brother and three sisters, Bev [Laverne] Wylie of Hutchinson, Gerald [Carol] Cook of Maple Grove, Sandra [George] Harapat of Elk River and Carol [Mike] Marxen of Alexandria; and 13 grandchildren.
