DEATH: David was killed in a car accident near the farm in Clarissa, MN, Todd County. He had been out Christmas shopping for his young family and while making a left hand turn near his home a milk truck hit him from the back.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Long Prairie, MN, for David A. Cook, 35, who died at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital from injuries received in a two-vehicle accident four miles south of Clarissa on County Road 11.
The Rev. Paul J. Twist will officiate. Burial will be in First Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Iona Township. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. today at Stephan-Stein Funeral Home, Long Prairie.
David Cook was born March 28, 1960 in Minneapolis to Harold and Carol [McKay] Cook. He lived in Maple Grove, where he was active in Boy Scouts of America. He served in the Marine Reserve Corps and Army Reserve Corp. He attended North Hennepin Community College for one year, Oakhills Bible Institute, Bemidji for two years and Bethel College, Roseville. He married Rochelle E. Chollett July 4, 1986 in Robbinsdale. They moved to rural Todd County in 1988 where he farmed for seven years in Iona Township. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Long Prairie; Sustainable Farming Association of Central Minnesota and Dairy Herd improvement Association.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Travis J. and Samuel R., at home; parents, Clarissa; grandmother; Verna McKay, Independence, Iowa; and sister and brother; Kay Jorgenson, Howard Lake; and Byron Clarissa.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Sept. 30, 1992.
Pallbearers will be Linden Chollett, Craig Schutte, Ron Knaable, Tony Lavrenz, Douglas Wylie and Edward Harapat.

BURIAL: David is buried at 1st Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Todd County MN (across from the farm)
