Nettie had a very hard life.She was allowed to marry Charles Jacobson at age 14.Then shortly after the marriage Charles Jacobson,with his brother Nelson and two Brandish boys, went to the home of Netties mother and step father,after dark,and killed the oldest brother and the stepfather by shooting them in the back.The stepfather through the back of the head and out the jaw.The brother,Levi D Srayer,in the leg ,back of the shoulder and mid back,puncuring a lung.Levi lived 3 days,the stepfather died instantly.This was all done in frount of the mother and 2 young brothers and sisters.Charles Jacobson died in prison but the others were later released by pardon of two different governers.
At age 16 Nettie married Bruce Napoleon Niceschwander,with whom she lived the rest of her life.Her father married Bruce's sister but later went back to his exwife after the death of her 2nd husband.Nettie's
other oldest brother married Bruce's other sister Margaret Ellen (Elnora).Nettie Nora (Strayer) Jacobson Niceschwander

She and Bruce adopted one of her brother, Cyrus Henry Strayer and Bruce's sister's children named Nettie Clair Strayer-Niceschwander Eaton after the mother, Margaret Ellen Niceschwander Strayer died.
