CLAUDE ALVIS CHAIN
Claude Alvis Chain, 80, of Amarillo, Texas, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, 1998, in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Perry L. Littlejohn and Gene Bell officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery, Claude, Texas.

Mr. Chain was born in Cold Springs, Oklahoma, and moved to Texas as a child, where he lived just north of Canyon. He picked cotton and then joined the Army during World War II where he served as a sergeant.

Mr. Chain lived in California and then moved to Claude, Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Jan Werner's Adult Day Care.

He married Hazel Littlejohn in 1996 at Amarillo, Texas. She died in 1998.

Survivors include three sisters, Margaret Teanie Wilde of Claude, Texas; Thelma Chain of Stockton, California; and Flo Chain of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Doyle Chain of Pinetop, Arizona; and Paul Chain of Chula Vista, California; two stepdaughters, Rosalie Littlejohn and Roberta Beard of Amarillo, Texas; two stepsons, George Littlejohn and Perry Littlejohn, both of Amarillo, Texas; and a special friend, Jean Wyble, of Amarillo, Texas.

The family will be at 1615 N. Garfield Street and 303 E. 5th Street in Claude, Texas.

They request memorials be made to Disabled Veterans.
