He grew to adulthood at Emporia, Kansas, and served as a private in Company H, 22nd Kansas Infantry, during the Spanish-American War. He married Pearl Highland at Pueblo, Colorado, on October 14, 1903. They lived in Colorado before moving to Oregon.

Raymond M. Alexander

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at the Holman and Son Mortuary, Portland, Ore., for Raymond M. Alexander, 79, of 434 Kelley St., who died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital.

Cochran Mortuary has charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Alexander was born Sept. 26, 1875, at Florence [sic], Kan. He had been a resident of Wichita for nine years coming here from Portland. He was a retired salesman.

Mr. Alexander was a veteran of the Spanish American War and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one brother, Art W. Alexander, of the home, two nephews and one niece.
