Daughter of James R. and Sarah J. Gilmore Adams, she was single, lived in Utica, was a retired postmaster, died in Cochranton of a cerebral hemorrhage due to generalized arteriosclerosis, and essential hypertension, per death certificate 11974, whose informant was Mrs. C. M. Campbell. Buried Feb 26 1945.

Franklin News-Herald, Saturday, Feb 24 1945:
Miss Harriet Adams died Friday evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. S. McCabe, Cochranton, after a month's illness.

She was a post mistress of the borough for 34 years, retiring four years ago. She was a member of the Utica Presbyterian Church and of Canal Grange.

Surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. C. M. Campbell, Franklin, Mrs. McCabe, Charles and Edgar Adams, Utica.

Services will be in United Presbyterian Church in Utica at 2:30 pm Monday. Burial will be in Millcreek Cemetery.
