SPRINGFIELD - Ella M. Beers Abbott, 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Springfield Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Balston Spa, N.Y., and grew up in Cairo, N.Y.

She was a past district deputy of the Rebekahs.

She enjoyed nature, cooking and making Christmas wreaths.

Survivors include three sons, Henry W. Abbott of Leesburg, Fla., Ralph W. Abbott and Nelson W. Abbott, both of Springfield; two daughters, Winona Johnson of Londonderry and Wonda Bendig of South Londonderry; a brother, Oscar Karlander of New York; two sisters, Hazel Morelli and Judy Karlander, both of New York; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, H. Winston Abbott.

A service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Londonderry Second Congregational Church. All other services will be private.

Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams-Gendron Funeral Home, Main Street, Chester.
