She was the widow of Harry A. Auchey, who died in September 1949.
Born in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Laura Frideringer Sterner.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Hanover.
She was owner and operator of the Auchey Greenhouse, Hanover RD 1, for 41 years, retiring in 1957.
She maintained a stall at the Hanover Market House for many years, retiring from there in 1972.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Dale (Thelma) Evans of 51 Sprenkle Ave. and Mrs. Burnell (Jean) Kessler of Hanover RD 6; three sons: Clyde Auchey of Hanover RD 2, Harry S. Auchey of 442 S. Franklin St., and Glenn Auchey of Hanover RD 1; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Charles (Marguerite) Halter of 311 W. Hanover St. and Miriam Bortner of 663 Third St.; and a brother, William Sterner of 619 Third St.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday from the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Ruths officiating.
The burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Matthew Lutheran Church Building Fund, 32 W. Chestnut St.
