Mrs. Gilbertson To Be Buried Saturday
Mrs. Edwin Gilbertson, 79, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 21st at the Good Shepherd Home where she has been for the past nine years and has been bedfast for the past four years.
Esther Amelia Jensen was born to the late Soren and Sena Jensen on January 4, 1885. She was married to Edwin Gilbertson on September 16, 1903, and they lived on a farm in the Rose Hill District for ten years before moving to Blair to a farm north of Dana College. They moved to Lincoln in May of 1948.
Mr. Gilbertson passed away on February 9, 1954. Mrs. Gilbertson lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kennell, in Lincoln for one year before coming to the Good Shepherd Home.
She is survived by four children, Lyle Gilbertson of Lynwood, California, Mrs. Waldo Wilson (Charlotte) of Joliet, Illinois, Kenneth Gilbertson of Syracuse, New York and Mrs. Leonard Kennell (Myrtle) of Lincoln, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Voss of Blair; three brothers, Nels and Henry Jensen of Blair and Albert A. Jensen of Millard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., October 24th at the First Lutheran Church. The Rev. George Palleson will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. The Bendorf Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be her nephews; Merton Jensen, J. Merton Kuhr, John Voss, Stanley Jensen, Alton Jensen and Gerald Jensen.
