His nickname was "Brownie" because that's what my grandmother always called him.
Son of Lloyd Woodson Brown (1890-1975) & Annie Mae (Freeman) Brown (1892-1969).
Brother to Cloyd M. (1915-1945 KIA), Dorice (1919-1951), Arzelia, Edna (1924-2004), Elton and Joan.
Husband of Seawillow (Bozarth) Brown (1918-1986).
Father of Seawillow Rae (Brown) Vonheeder-Rolly, and Maj. Daryl Freeman Brown Sr (USAF).
Beloved Grandfather to Kim Vonheeder, Kelli (Vonheeder) Prader, Danica (Brown) Love, Kristan (Brown) Corsiglia, Hilary (Brown) Jones, and CPL Daryl F. Brown Jr (USMC).
Great grandfather of Nathan Love, Kyra F. Love, Austin C. Prader, Emma C. Love, Gracie R. Prader, Jillian J. Corsiglia, Bianca C. Brown, Gavrie Jones, and Ellie R. Brown.
He served his country, lost his brother at Iwo Jima, and instilled a great sense of service to country, honor, and bravery in his children and grandchildren.
Grandpa Brown died when I was just 8, so my memories of him aren't the best.I remember he was a big man, over 6'2, who always had a ready laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. And I remember than when grandma passed away, he was totally lost. He came to live with us for a short time after that, and his smile was gone. He died of broken heart syndrome. He had only lived a year and a half after grandma.
