LAFAYETTE, AL -- Mrs. Joan Blondell Brown Phillips, 77, of LaFayette died Friday, 15 Aug 2008 at LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. (CDT) Tuesday, 19 Aug 2008 at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette, AL with Rev Wayne Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Ray Durham Phillips of LaFayette, AL; two sons, Dwain Rodney Phillips of Spring, TX and Ray Maurice Phillips of Cabbott, AR; one brother, Elton Conrad Brown of Gadsden, AL; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Born 12 Mar 1931 in Chambers County, AL, Mrs. Phillips worked as a nurse's aide at a nursing home in Louisiana and did a lot of volunteer work. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Michelle Phillips.
The family will receive friends Monday, 18 Aug 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette, AL.
