John Bender, aged 44 years, passed away at 6am today, at his home, at 357 North Tenth street, as the result of a complication of diseases. He had been in poor health for the past year and had been unable to work at his trade of bricklaying for some time. His wife and seven children survive--John, Raymond, Joseph, Pauline, Richard, Guy and Florence; one brother, Charles, and three sisters, Mrs Henry Bleistine, Mrs James Beattie and Katherine Bender, at home. The deceased was a member of St Mary's Catholic church.

Funeral services were held this morning at 9 o'clock in St Mary's Catholic church, for the late John Bender, of 357 North Tenth street. Father Adam Christ was in charge of the service which was largely attended by relatives and friends. Interment was made at the Mt Lebanon cemetery, under the direction of P H Thompson, undertaker.
