STROKE FATAL
TO MRS. B. CLEMENS

Mrs. Bertha Clemens, aged 53 years, passed away at the family residence, 1486 Central Avenue, Friday evening at 6:30 o’clock after an illness of 18 days.

On May 11, she was stricken with a stroke and never regained consciousness. She was born in Glen Haven, Wis., Feb. 23, 1872. Besides her husband Peter W. Clemens, she is survived by the following children: five sons, Ray M., Wilfred C., Rudolph J., Cyril and Albert. Also four daughters: Mrs. Joe Menzel, Mrs. W. M. Duggan, Mary and Delores, all of Dubuque. One brother, Matt Burback, Stratford, Wis., six sisters; Mrs. Theo. Grimesey, Bloomington, Wis., Mrs. John Walsh, Glen Haven, Wis., Mrs. John Gerber, Coon Rapids, Ia., Mrs. Peter Gerber , Wilmot, Minn., Mrs. Peter Scheidel, Hardington, Nebr., and Mrs. Frank Balk, Leed, S. Dakota; also four grandchildren. A son and daughter preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church and received the last rites. The remains have been taken to Voelker’s Chapel, from where the funeral will be held Monday morning to St. Mary’s Church at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
