Bert Bacon was born November 3rd, 1885 at Grant and died January 3, at his home in sedalia, Missouri from a heart attack, at the age of 44 years. He is survived by his wife, one step-daughter, Mrs. Darleen Gamble of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, mother, Mrs. Nora Bacon, Elliott, and three sisters, Mrs. Delia Miller, Omaha, Mrs. Lena Curry, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Ethel Neary, Elliott.
Mrs. Bacon was married January 31, 1923 to Mrs. Madge Nelson and the past 17 years had been employed by the Railroad Company in Sedalia. He was a member of the Grant Church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Grant Church with Rev. Ellis of the elliott Church in charge and the Rev. Ernest McAninch of Grant assisted. Mrs. L. W. Pogue, Mrs, Albert Bender, Ross J. Miller and Fred Davis sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs Earl Spiker The pall bearers were Charlie Redman, Lloyd Smith and Jay Corbin of Elliott, and Arthur Stinemates, N. H. Jones and Merrill Foote. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery
